Ruston Grosse – Amesa Spentas – A String of Pearls – Drum Play-through

Multi-Instrumentalist and drummer for the seminal Death Metal band, Master, Ruston Grosse is proud to release this drum play-through of the first single, “A String of Pearls” from his solo band, AMESA SPENTAS off the upcoming release, “Dealienation.” AMESA SPENTAS showcases Ruston’s ability not only on the Drums, but on Guitar, Bass, Vocals, Sax, keyboard, and a whole slew of other instruments as well.

“I’m beyond excited to debut this play-through video with Sick Drummer Magazine,” says Ruston. “The guys at SDM have been such huge contributors to the worldwide Metal community for soo long and are just such great dudes in general, that I’m thrilled to have their help in releasing this video.”

AMESA SPENTAS has been Ruston’s creative vision for years having begun initially in 2006 as a band called “Time is Like a Sword” (https://timeislikeasword.bandcamp.com/releases) featuring Eli Litwin (John Frum, Knife the Glitter…) on drums and a cast of extremely talented musicians filling out the band. The band continued on as a solo project and became AMESA SPENTAS, with Ruston recording the single, “Master of The Temple” (https://youtu.be/BDBcdtBDsWI) in 2013, recruiting the engineering sorcery of long time friends, Kevin Antreassian, (Backroom Studios, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Knife the Glitter…) and Scot Moriarty, (Organ Dealer…)

Ruston then relocated to South Florida and enlisted the help of drumming legend, Derek Roddy to play live drums for the band. They slowly worked at forming a full band but found it extremely difficult to find players capable of playing the material locally. The pair drifted apart and Ruston continued on solo, recording the band’s first full-length release with engineering duties predominantly handled by Ruston’s long-time best friend and bandmate in Master, Pat Shea at The Shredquarters in Los Angeles, CA.

This play-through was recorded in Ruston’s home studio in one take with NO EDITS. Ruston comments, “I hope you enjoy the insane noise I hear in my head!”
