Levi Sheehan is a self-taught drummer who began playing at age 12 and, after several years of live gigging in various heavy bands in New Zealand, found his home in Organectomy shortly after the release of their first album, Domain of the Wretched. Shortly after their sophomore album Existential Disconnect was released, the pandemic prompted Levi to go to Jazz School to fill in the gaps in his education and become a more diverse player.
After a 5 month stint as a cruise ship jazz drummer in 2022, he has come back home with a reignited passion for blast beats and heavy music. Organectomy has just finished the touring cycle for their latest album ‘Nail Below Nail’, including an extremely successful USA slam tour with Ingested, Devourment, and Extermination Dismemberment, and are now back into writing mode for the NZ winter.
Hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand, Organectomy’s unique blend of ‘Slamming Brutal Death Metal’ has earned the band worldwide praise, now widely regarded as one of the heaviest bands in the southern hemisphere. Their most recent release, ‘Nail Below Nail,’ showcases their brutal style of crushing slams mixed in with unrelenting groove and savage death metal, all culminating into a devastating combo.
