Born and raised in Saarland in the South-West of Germany, drummer Alex Landenburg is known for his work with international metal giants such as Annihilator, Stratovarius, Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody, and Kamelot. After various features in European drum magazines, Drumheads magazine included him in the “50 Most Influential German Drummers” in their 2010 special issue “Drum Heroes.” In 2016, together with friends from Swedish Metal Legends In Flames and Amaranthe, Alex founded the band Cyhra, which has since released its debut on Universal Records and toured extensively in Europe and the US. In 2018, Alex joined the Progressive Symphonic Metal Act Kamelot from Florida/USA, and has been touring with them and Cyhra ever since.
In 2021, Alex recorded two sample packs for Toontrack called “Duality I” and “Duality II” together with renowned Swedish producer Jakob Herrmann, and he also released a midi pack on Toontrack called “Majestic Metal.”
Alex’s latest release is the new Kamelot Album “The Awakening,” from which this track is taken.
Alex has held drum clinics in many different places already, including Canada, China, and many European countries. He currently lives in London/UK.
Antti has been doing drum cam videos for his YouTube channel and for artists and brands to use on their channels for almost 10 years. The usual filming gear includes action cameras and, when it’s possible, freehand shooting with DSLR. This was the case in this video, which was shot in Antti’s hometown Tampere, at the iconic venue Pakkahuone.
Audio is usually recorded either with on-stage recorders and dedicated microphones or as a multi-track by the band’s sound engineer. In this video, the drums are mixed by Antti from a live drum multi-track and placed on top of the album track of the song.
