Drummer, Zed Amarin started playing drums in the underground metal scene in Amman, Jordan over 20 years ago. In 2015, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of becoming a professional drummer. Over the years, he has played, recorded, and toured with a number of bands, most notably as the co-founder and drummer of Esodic (a project he brought over from Jordan), as well as working with Of The Betrayer, Sicarius, ØVI, and other projects. Zed’s playing is rooted in extreme metal, with a strong focus on speed, precision, and double-bass drumming, while always trying to develop his own sound and approach. Zed has toured around the U.S. and Europe, taking the stage at major metal festivals including Metal Days (now called Tolminator) in Slovenia and at Hellfest in France.
Esodic is a Middle Eastern extreme metal band originally formed in Amman, Jordan in 2003. Emerging from Jordan’s underground metal scene, the band developed its sound against a backdrop of political and social unrest, at a time when metal shows and other countercultural gatherings in the country were frequently shut down or raided. Esodic’s music grew out of that environment, combining elements of thrash and death metal with themes rooted in war, religion, politics, Middle Eastern history and mythology.
After the original members eventually dispersed to different parts of the world, drummer Zed Amarin relocated to Los Angeles and began rebuilding Esodic in the U.S. The band released Mirrors of Disgrace in 2018, performed at MetalDays Festival in Slovenia in 2019, and released its sophomore EP De Facto De Jure in 2024. The current incarnation of Esodic continues to expand its extreme-metal sound with Middle Eastern instrumentation, rhythms and influences. In 2026, the band completed a tour of Spain, France and performed on the Altar stage at Hellfest in Clisson, France, in front of more than 11,000 people. Esodic stands as a powerful, resilient force in modern extreme metal.
