Mark Mironov Interview:

SDM: How old were you when you started playing?

Mark: The 25th January 2005 was the first time when I set to drums and began to do my favorite job. I was 16 years old at that time.

SDM: Did you play in a school band or any drum corps?

Mark: I was playing in different bands and listened to different musics. And practiced during all this period.

SDM: Who are your top 5 metal influences?

Mark: That's a really hard one, because there are so many players that I'm inspired by…If I had to pick the top 5 they would be:

1. Blake Richardson
2. Chad Smith
3. Alex Pelletier
4. Jose Pasillas
5. Alex Lopez

SDM: Let us know 5 CD's that are in your current rotation

Mark:

Born of Osiris – The New Reign
Veil Of Maya – The Common Man's Collapse
Between The Buried And Me – Alaska
Protest The Hero – Fortress
Underoath –  Define the Great Line

SDM: What do you do to warm up before a show?

Mark: Well… mostly I'm trying to stay alone with my favorite CD, with my training pad or something else… It can be everything… A chair, a sofa… 10-20 minutes is enough to warm up and to play an amazing gig)

SDM: Do you read music? Regardless of answering yes or no, please tell us how it might have effected your playing?

Mark: No, I haven't learned in any musical schools. As you see, it can't trouble me=)

SDM: Do you have a favorite brand of drums or cymbals?

Mark: Of course! From the beginning I have discovered Sabian cymbals. Most of my favorite bands play with support of this firm. Near 2 years ago, I put money by and bought full Sabian set of 6 AA Metal-x cymbals. Now only China reminds me of this set. All other cymbals were broken. And it's much more expensive and difficut to buy Sabian at this moment. So I have to play using bad stuff=(

SDM: If you could give one piece of advice to young drummers, it would be…

Mark: If you decided to do something go forward and do not retreat at any price! Door will be opened to them, who knocks in…

SDM: Who gave the best live performance you've ever seen?

Mark: Despised Icon, Suicide Silence and KISS =)

SDM: If you had to stop drumming, what would you want to do with your life?

Mark: Music is everything for me! All my hobbies and skills might be associated only with creation… Besides drums, I also draw, develop logos and band's design. Now I'm learning to sing and play guitar) Recently I've bought an acoustic guitar…
