Listen to this kid hit the skins at 17!

I started playing drums in early 2001 with a sole intent of forming a Thrash/Metal Band. After about 2 years of practice I joined up with a Hardcore/Metal band Ninth Dying. After being in that line-up for a solid year, due to financial problems I had to leave the band and later moved up to Jacksonville, Fl. After having sessions with numerous bands such as Hatred Unleashed, Anhilates The Body, Project Upsilon, Parkridge, and Thoughts Drown Through, I was looking for a more serious commitment. Having been in contact with Nick (guitarist) and having heard a few very early demos of “The Ruthless” (At that time called Project X) I decided that was exactly the project I was looking for. After contacting long time aquaintance Connor (bass) this line-up was set in stone. Having only been in this project for a few monthes this is still a somewhat new project for me and I have only the greatest optimism for the future of this band.

SD.com: Do you have a favorite brand of drums or cymbals?

Chris: I Strictly use Pearl EX Drums, and Sabian Cymbals

SD.com: Do you have any pre-show rituals?

Chris: Not religiously but I ussually sit behind the stage quietly and go over Thomas Lange’s speed exercises.

SD.com: If you could give one piece of advice to young drummers, it would be…

Chris: Learn to do stuff correctly early. If you develop a bad habit of doing something incorrectly early on, It will make it very hard to change in the future so learn everything correctly in the beginning.

SD.com: Who gave the best live performance you’ve ever seen?

Chris: Has to be The Black Dahlia Murder. They put on such a great live show it’s insane. Id strongly advise everyone to see them.

SD.com: If you had to stop drumming, what would you want to do with your life?

Chris: Prolly go to Tech school and become an Underwater welder. That was the original plan.
