On September 13, 2013 Navene Koperweis (ex Animals As Leaders/Animosity) became the first drummer to hold a clinic at Sick Drummer Studios in San Francisco, CA. The clinic was two hours long and consisted of Navene playing a full set of his Navene K project material, as well as time spent explaining exercises, tips, practice routines and answering questions.
This first clip starts at the end of his first set and goes into some demonstrations/discussion on a fill technique he learned from Billy Rhymer of The Dillinger Escape Plan. The fill is basically L-R-kick, R-L-kick and Navene shows us how to move it around the kit for different feels utilizing different fill patterns. More footage will be released soon right here, so check back for added video!
We also have a Q/A session coming on 10/7/2013 with Danny Walker of Intronaut & Jamie Postones of TesseracT and there are still some spaces available to this free event. On 10/9/2013 we have a bass clinic with the amazing Jeff Hughell of Six Feet Under, with special drummer guest, Alex Bent! There are also some seats left for this free clinic, so visit our clinic information page for all the details and get your email sent before the spaces are gone!
