“We are Building ruins” Ep Review – 5/5
We are Building Ruins is a band from Italy and features drummer Raphael Saini, who has played with bands like: Machescazo, Chaoswave, Abiura, Mutilated Soul (studio guest), Corpsefucking Art and Blu Infinito. This album is some pretty intense death-core/death metal inspired material, which sounds very similar to that of many different death-core bands, with a hint of Hate Eternal/Morbid Angel “Steve Tucker” era styled vocals and grindcore!
This album was mixed and mastered at 16th Cellar Studio (Hour of Penance, Fleshgod Apocalypse) Raphael makes use of his Meinl cymbals very well on this 3 song Ep! Raphael is a very hard hitting drummer and uses various techniques and styles on the kit, while using blast beats led by one foot! Raphael has taken lessons from George Kollias of Nile and it’s great to hear it in the recording.
Nice break downs and tempo changes, along with some groovy metal-styled drumming, while using some really badass heavy drum sticks! This 3 song Ep is an insight to hopefully a full album of utter destructiveness in the future!
Coming straight from Italy with a modern death-core twist, this 3 song Ep is full of double bass, grinding blast beats, skank beats, Pete Sandoval/George Kollias inspired drumming, with a touch a progressive metal feel (like Nevermore).
Raphael does his country proud on this Ep. A very accurate display of brutality while keeping the listener totally fixated on the music. Great work, Raphael! I’m really looking forward to a full length album. Two horns up. \m/
