SEPULTURA: Brazilian TV Debut With New Drummer

A video of SEPULTURA performing the song "Convicted in Life" live on the Brazilian TV show "Programa do Jô" Thursday night (September 7) has been posted online at www.youtube.com

SEPULTURA's appearance on "Programa do Jô" marked the TV debut of the band's new drummer, Jean Dolabella (ex-UDORA), who replaced founding member Igor Cavalera in June.

Igor announced earlier in the year that he was taking a break from the group's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January). Filling in on drums during the band's European tour with IN FLAMES was Roy Mayorga, who played with Igor's brother Max in SOULFLY for several years in the late '90s and again in 2001-2003.

Igor is the second Cavalera to leave SEPULTURA. In 1996, Max Cavalera exited the group after the rest of the band fired Max's wife Gloria as SEPULTURA's manager.

As previously reported, SEPULTURA's video for "Convicted in Life" has been nominated in four categories at MTV's Video Music Awards Brazil 2006: "Best Editing", "Best Direction", "Best Photography" and "Best Art Direction". The awards show takes place in São Paulo on September 28.

The "Convicted in Life" clip was shot over a two-day period in February in São Paulo, Brazil. Check out pictures from the making of the video at http://sepultura.uol.com.br/v6/en/pictures_album.php?id=239. The final video can be viewed at www.youtube.com.
