Update From John Longstreth: Origin, Gorguts, Dim Mak, Caricature and Crator

Well, I’ve been siting here reviewing what I have ahead of me this year and it’s looking kind of full, so I figured I should let everyone in on it, so we don’t have any incorrect rumors.

For the record, No, I’m not joining KISS!. You can feel rest assured that I will not be assuming the role of the cat man anytime soon.

So yea, the Gorguts thing is going amazing. I just returned from Menegroth studios in Queens NY. Menegroth is the official NYC home of Goroguts… we basically finished up the live set that we will be presenting at the end of May. There will be 3 East Coast shows leading up to The Maryland Deathfest 2010 performance on Friday, MAY 28. I will have dates and venue info on the 3 warm-up shows as soon as they become available.

For now though, I must put Gorguts on hold and return to my home State of Kansas for a week of warm-up with Origin. As recently announced, Origin is touring New Zealand, Australia and central Europe during the month of April. In Aus/Zealand, we have Origin with Misery Index and Psycroptic in support of Decapitated. In Europe we are with Beneath The Massacre and Dying Fetus. Both tours, I am sure are to be largely successful, and it’s rare that we get as excited as we are about this tour. We are going places we have never been before, and we are touring with some of our favorite friends/bands. What’s not to get excited about?

Upon returning from the Origin whirlwind in early May, I get to immediately restart work with Gorguts towards the end of May and finally unveil the new re-worked monster that everyone has been asking about.

Then comes June! June will be special, as we will see three more projects being furthered. Dim Mak, Caricature and Crator. Details on these three as I get closer to them. As for now, if you know who I am, you know what to expect from Dim Mak… Caricature will see me heading in a more progressive direction (though still not as mainstream as KISS hahahaha) and Crator is full out death-grind, not to far off from Origin, featuring three additional musicians from upstate NY that I will name later. There has to be at least SOME mystery to this one, boys n’girls.

BUT WAIT… There’s more… and you will hear about it later! Take care ladies n’gentlemen, boys n’girls, and thank you for tuning in!
