Oceano Hitting Things Right

With the release of Oceano's highly anticipated debut album, Depths just over a week away, the buzz on Chicago's deathcore heavyweights is amping up considerably. Already a #1 death metal act on MySpace, the band reached a #4 position on Last.FM's "Hype List" last week. Upping the ante on those two achievements, however, the band has now amassed an even more monumental one for a band as young and extreme as theirs by being featured in the pages of the most respected trade magazine in the music industry, Billboard.

Oceano appears in the magazine's spotlight for artists on the rise. It is a section called "Happening Now." In the sizable piece, Billboard writer Christa Titus explores the circumstances surrounding Oceano becoming one of the most hotly buzzed young metal bands today. The feature also includes quotes from Oceano guitarist, Andrew Mikhail and Earache US. Label Manager, Al Dawson who go beyond the hype and prove that beneath the angry exterior lies a hard working and extremely talented band who've earned every bit of buzz that has followed them.
