Professional drummer/singer, Jeramie Kling, has been a long-time friend and contributor to Sick Drummer Magazine. You may know him from his work with The Absence, Venom Inc., Necromancing The Stone, Wombbath, or Ribspreader. You may also know him as a recording engineer, producer, tour manager, or FOH engineer on tours with bands like Exodus, Sepultura, and Soilwork. Regardless of how you know him or not, he’s an incredible drummer, engineer, and friend. Jeramie has managed to build a steady career in the metal community, and we’re always looking out for what he’s going to do next.
This video is Jeramie’s newest project, Inhuman Condition, where he handles vocals, and drums in the studio. This project also features the legendary Terry Butler of Obituary on bass and Taylor Nordberg of Infernaeon on guitar.
A few words from Jeramie: “I have been playing since I was 2-3 years old… I started jamming with friends a lot around the ages of 12-14 and eventually forming a band at 16 years old. That band led to another band and then I started the Absence with those fellas. It was at this point I really started to up my practice regime. Heavy amounts of rudiments and drills. My main goal has been fluidity, always trying to become water. I really respect drummers like Tim Alexander (Primus) and Stewart Copeland (The Police), as they look so effortless while being so concise. I have had the opportunity to work with some killer artists, played drums with Doro and venom inc!, and got to jam at sound checks with Sepultura, Hypocrisy, Immortal, and Suffocation!”
