Bryan “Newbs” Newbury, Canadian Drummer of Progressive Metal Legends ‘Into Eternity,’ Death Thrash Veterans ‘Untimely Demise’ and Death Metal Stalwarts ‘Sadistic Embodiment,’ has been making the most of his time in isolation.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Bryan has been using the free time to practice, rehearse, perform session work, give lessons and film multiple play-through videos for social media and promotion of his musical projects.
Bryan has been making the best of a bad situation and staying a positive voice of reason during a time where so much is uncertain.

Untimely Demise has been a mainstay in the Canadian Metal Scene and International Metal Scene since 2006. Slated to tour with Flotsam and Jetsam for their most recent tour and a guest spot at the Juno Awards – Juno Fest, UD had a busy and productive year ahead before the pandemic hit home. In light of these events, UD has switched focus, once again making the best of a bad situation and is now preparing to enter the studio once again to lay down drums for their Fifth full-length studio album. These new tracks are pushing UD’s sound to another new level of speed, technicality and Melody with their unique blend of old school thrash, death metal, and melodic metal sensibility. Untimely Demise is looking forward to coming back stronger than ever when the dust has settled.

Bryan “Newbs” Newbury has been shredding the drums in Western Canada since 2002 working his way up the ranks to become one of Canada’s most beloved, fun, positive, and beastly, bearded metal drummers! Bryan wears his obvious influences on his sleeve, literally! Heavy names like Gene Hoglan, Neil Peart, and Vinnie Paul, shape his style and love of groovy hard-hitting metal/rock music.
Among his current bands that include International Touring Artists Into Eternity and Untimely Demise. Bryan has a Death Metal labor of love by the name of Sadistic Embodiment. Bryan is an accomplished session drummer and has been known to have many side projects on the go at any given time.
Bryan is also the Head Drum and Percussion Instructor at Alberta School Of Music in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He teaches all ages and skill levels with a focus on mental/physical health, fitness, personal expression, and fun.
