I got the Gigan CD in the mail the other day and felt the need to let you all know about an incredible drummer and band. Check out
Danny Ryan and Gigan. The drumming on this album, to me, is everything that encapsulates sick drumming. That's a pretty bold statement, but wait until you hear it. Danny's drumming actually reminds me of another young drummer, Drew Button of Lye By Mistake. His creativity, meter, speed, transition, feel and control are all astounding. I love hearing a drummer this good once in a while… It's what it's all about!
Gigan was formed in early 2006 by left-handed lead guitarist Eric Hersemann. Having moved on from Diabolic (Century Media Records) and no longer jamming with Hate Eternal (Metal Blade Records), Eric made the decision to create a whole new musical entity… Growing tired of standard extreme metal cliches, he constructed a vehicle with which to properly express his and his bandmates imaginations: GIGAN.
