Hailing from the mid-’90s, Blake “Blaac” Lemieux, is a Canadian metal drummer mostly recognized for playing with the popular Montreal thrash metal band “Lankmar.” Blake pursued other avenues of interest during the early millennium years, working in recording studios and engaging in desktop publishing endeavors, but continued pounding out his aggression on the drum kit. In 2011, he joined the Black Symphonic Death Metal band “Hollow” and released its first full-length CD titled, MORDRAKE. In 2014, the band was nominated for GAMIQ Award in Montreal for the best metal CD of the year.
While continuing to play with Hollow, Blake continued to carve out his hostility by joining ranks with the boys from the Toronto thrash metal band “Entropy” in 2014. Dispensing thrash and heaviness to anyone who can bang their heads was something that Entropy was great at delivering at every performance. Blake had recorded Entropy’s fourth CD, “Force Convergence” in March 2020. Blake managed to keep true to his old thrash roots while adapting his new drumming style and technique gained from Hollow and Your Last Wish, breathing new life to an already dominant music style.
Blake persisted with his rage by joining “Your Last Wish” in 2017, a band that Hollow’s guitar player Dave Gagne is also a part of. In March 2019, Blake permanently tempered his name as a heavy-hitting drum cannon with the recording of their third CD “ERADICATE.” This is by far Blake’s best performance to date incorporating multiple drum styles to the music.
In 2017, “E-Force” was looking to complete its North American lineup and hence Blake became the driving force behind the man himself, Eric Forrest formerly of Voivod. It should be noted that Dan Lauzon of Entropy also joined the line-up, and with that, both Dan and Blake brought justice to the stage and made for a successful tour.
Blake had also filled in for two shows for”Karkaos,” and was the drum tech for both Carmine and Vinnie Appice on their 2013 Drum Wars tour in Canada.
Blake proudly endorses the Quick Torque Cam by Eccentric Systems and has been using it since 2015. He has recorded the last two CDs with them.
