We would like to start out the new year by giving you a full set of HD drum-cam footage featuring Adam Jarvis and Misery Index. This footage was filmed in September 2010 and has not been published anywhere else until now. Please support Misery Index by visiting their Myspace page and Facebook page.
Update from Adam Jarvis:
Hello everyone, 2011 is here! But before I get into the stuff coming up this year, I want to look back on the awesomeness that happened in 2010(insert flashback sound effect here).
At the first of the year we (Misery Index) hit Wrightway Studios in Baltimore with engineer Steve Wright to record our third release on Relapse, and latest effort "Heirs To Thievery". I am most proud of my drum work on this album and the songs in general, as it's some of the fastest stuff I've ever recorded and made for a great start to 2010.
We did some amazing tours last year as well. In March we went out with our buds in Magrudergrind for a month in the states, in April we went downunda' to Australia and New Zealand with Decapitated, Psycroptic and our good friends in Origin! By far the heaviest tour I've ever been on! From Perth Australia we flew to Singapore for an amazing show and experience, and then onto Taiwan for another killer gig before we returned to the states. That was a total of 13 flights in 2 weeks on that run!
In May/June we went out with our home state boys in Dying Fetus. Shortly after, we flew over the pond to the Czech Republic to play an amazing festival called Obscene Extreme. In September/October we went out with Despised Icon (R.I.P) on their last run though the states and Canada, along with Revocation and The Last Felony. With 5 days off after the DI tour, we flew over to Europe again for a Co-headlining tour with Grave (man can those guys drink), along with our buds in Arsis, The Last Felony and The Rotted. With only a week off after that run we went out in the states in December with Job For A Cowboy, along with Skelotonwitch and Trap Them. WOOOOO! That's about six months of touring and a new album recorded/released in one year. Not Bad!
Now onto what's happening in 2011 with me and the Misery Bunch. First off, we're going to start working on some new tracks for a split 7" with Lock Up, to be relased later this year. In February we head down to Colombia for 2 shows. Then off to Puerto Rico for a show, then some dates in the states with Eye Hate God. In March/April we head over to Southeast Asia to play in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia! Looking forward to that one. Then we'll be playing a series of festivals in Europe, including: Neurotic Deathfest in Holland, Rock Hard fests in Germany, France and Switzerland, Death Feast open Air, With Full Force both in Germany and Tuska Festival in Finland, and maybe some dates in Russia!
All that said, all this touring has made me into a better player. Not only because I play every night, it's more about setting up different everyday and playing in a different room/kit/stage/atmosphere everyday. These are things that get overlooked by the person in the crowd headbanging. Also, being the drummer you have to try and stay healthy and in shape on the road, and trust me it's not always easy! Needless to say, sometimes it's NOT fun being a drummer! It has made me a better player though, and I love doing it! It's great meeting metalheads across the world and experiencing things people only dream of. At the end of the day, if your happy with what you do, then your having a good time… ALL THE TIME!
Cheers and Happy New Year ~ Adam Jarvis
