Aaron Pinto - Gutslit - From One Ear To Another

Aaron Pinto is the drummer for Mumbai-based death grind band Gutslit. He’s been with the band for a little over five years and has been playing drums for the last ten. This video is Aaron playing Gutslit’s ‘From One Ear To Another.’ Check out our last play-through for ‘Blood Eagle’ here.

A few words from Aaron: “I first learned the drums for a year from one of the greatest teachers of Indian drumming community, the late Mr. Irvin Vaz. After that, I’ve picked up everything I know from that other great teacher, YouTube, devoured every drum magazine I could find, and found there’s world-class tuition to be had in shedding sessions with my drumming buddies. Adam Jarvis, Shannon Lucas, Gene Hoglan, Brann Dailor, Derek Roddy… these are my all-time heroes when it comes to metal drummers.

More recent influences include Jojo Mayer, Benny Greb, Adam Deitch, Richard Spaven and Chris Coleman; and I’ve got a drum-heavy electronic project in the works that incorporates all these styles. Having felt the rush of touring consistently for the last four years now, I’m finally working towards making this my full-time profession.

The most challenging record I’ve worked on so far is Gutslit’s Amputheatre. Our newer material is even more intense, which is super exciting for me/us.

Established in 2007, Gutslit has grown to be one of the top extreme metal band from India. The band has released two albums titled, ‘Amputheatre’ & ‘Skewered in the Sewer’ which have helped them attain worldwide support from fans and reputable media outlets. Gutslit has been highly proactive in touring Europe and Southeast Asia including festivals such as Meh-Suff, Deathfeast Open Air, Brutal Assault, Obscene Extreme Fest, Bangalore Open Air, Fekal Party Fest & more. Gutslit plans to do more touring in Europe as well as new territories in 2019.
