Marco Pitruzzella Checks In From NAMM

We just talked with Marco and he has had a great first day at Namm & WFD! He wanted to express how great it was meeting most of his biggest influences and talk a little about day one:

"I got to meet Rabb, Yeung, Waterson, Mangini, (mike machine and matt smith) they are all very cool dudes". I got to NAMM, found the WFD booth, warmed up a little and did a couple runs. I was hitting around 970 for single stroke hands and about 900 on the feet, but I wasn't really in the "zone".  I mostly stayed around the drum section today and I had a lot of kids coming up to me and saying, "hey, I've seen you on the internet"… or "hey, aren't you the drummer of Braindrill?" haha hella cool. Tons of people are asking about "GrindStix" The ones you sent are kickass! Orange County Drums had some sweet stuff, they had a snare drum that is actually a functioning BONG! it's insane! Day 2:

The NAMM show today was good, again! Today I checked out almost of all the booths, since it takes about 2-3 days just to walk around and check all the stuff out. I didn't hang out in the WFD booth too long today, but I did a few runs and I was hitting around the same as yesterday 970 for hands and 900 for feet. Most of the other guys are having troubles with their feet as well! The only guy who has been kicking ass with the feet is Mike Machine (from Canada) and he was hitting about 1,000. I ran into Tyson Jupin (Vile, Warface) which is always awesome. Tomorrow is the final battle for the WFD. Mangini, Rabb, Yeung, Waterson and Matt Smith will all be there as judges, it should be a good show! A lot of guys trying to make new records but we'll see what happens tomorrow! Marco

Day 3:

So today was the last day of NAMM and the big WFD event, I arrived right as it was starting. Everyone had to sign in before the event started, but luckily I got there in time to sign up for the feet battle. There were too many people signed up for the hands battle, becuase this WFD event was on the main stage at NAMM (they only had a certain amount of time to use the stage). Anyways, I really wanted to go for the hands, but I had to just do the feet. Two girls went for the foot battle. They both got around 740 range, which is pretty damn good! When I went to do it, I wasn't in the zone too much, so I hit 800 for the feet. I was in first for a while, then Tyson Jupin went on and beat my score. Some other guy came and beat his score, then the last guy to go was Mike Machine (who yesterday made a new world record) Today, Mike got a high 900 score. So I basically got 4th place for the feet battle today. The past few days I was hitting around 900, today I hit 800. I wasn't too stoked about my score but it was still fun. For the hands battle, I am not sure of the guys names who won but, two guys broke over 1,000 and one guy got a high 900 score. I wish there was time for me to try the hands, but luckily the past few days DOES count for the WFD website 🙂 Overall NAMM was really cool and it was very awesome that so many great drummers and musicians attend it. It was very awesome to finally meet most of my drumming influences! I am thinking of going to the NAMM show  in Texas, in 6 months. Either way, I will be more prepared the next time I go to any WFD event. Anyways, I want to give props and thanks to everyone I met at NAMM and whoever was in the WFD event. Lot's of good drummers and nice people, all with good attitudes. Mike Machine is now the current record holder for singles for the Feet, he beat Tim Watersons record by 4 more hits (1034)!!!…….until next time…….Marco
