Formed in early 2003, Scourge has embraced the dedicated, hardworking whatever it takes philosophy towards their music as well as their live performance. Founding members David Lee and Jeremy Pastrick embraced the idea of combining the brutal, fast, hard hitting riffs of death metal and the dark, atmospheric, melancholic melodies of black metal. The Result: A sonic assault fueled by the unquestioning desire and dedication to play music as well as their love for metal.
Now in 2006 Scourge, with David Lee on rhythm guitar and vocals, Jeremy Pastrick on lead guitar, Ryan Harvey on bass, Greg Daulton on vocals, and Ryan Mills on drums, have begun their ascension towards their ultimate goal: To play as much as possible.
With this goal in mind, Scourge has completed a self-produced E.P. allowing them to play numerous shows including a self- organized tour of Florida as well as playing with the highly esteemed band: Misery Index.
With most of this productivity occurring within the last six months, Scourge has exhibited extreme drive and dedication, which holds limitless possibilities for the bands future. By staying true to themselves and their love of music, Scourge will continue to only improve as a band and let their ideals of hard work, dedication, as well as their music speak for themselves. One only has to listen.
Ryan Mills Interview:
SD.com: How old were you when you started playing?
Ryan: I was just 16 when I started playing, had my own set at the time too. When I started playing I was playing with some friend who were much better than me and they taught me how to play and to be a good drummer. So, during that time I would play around 6-8 hours a day with them.
SD.com: Did you play in a school band or any drum corps?
Ryan: No
SD.com: Ever take any lessons?
Ryan: Just about 2 years after I got where I wanted to be an 'amature' drummer, I deicide to take lessons to pursue an education at Berklee College of Music, where I am at right now. I found that lessons really help to make me more of a stable drummer.
SD.com: Who are your top 5 influences?
Ryan: Phil Collins, Abe Cunningham, Igor Calvara, Vinnie Paul, John Bonham.
SD.com: Assuming that influences doesn't mean favorites, who are your favorites?
Ryan: The same from above and so many more; I really don't wanna take the time to type them all.

SD.com: Do you have any pre-show rituals?
Ryan: I warm up on my drum pad. it gets me loose and ready to kick butt out on stage. with out practice before I go on the stage I sounds like shit.
SD.com: If you could give one piece of advice to young drummers, it would be…
Ryan: To be a good drummer you must practice everyday and even try to practice with a guitar player because that will help as well.
SD.com: Who gave the best live performance you've ever seen?
Ryan: Phil Collins- Genisis Runion Tour. Chester thomas is so gooood!
SD.com: If you had to stop drumming, what would you want to do with your life?
Ryan: I would produce music and movies. It's like turning something into a master peice
