Hello my name is Bryan Fajardo and i have been playing drums for 13 years. I started listening to death metal and grindcore when i was about 11 or 12. I was always interested in how the music was actually played and really want to do this my self.

Drums were what i was attracted to before i had even listened to any type of metal. So i knew that was what i wanted to do. I was about 12 years old when i got my first kit and was already on the mission to learn how to grind and get fast with my feet. Listening to bands like suffocation and Deicide at first is what got me going, but as i got older and started listening to more grindcore and and different styles of blast beats. I think all the years of being a grind nerd have turned me into the drummer i am now.One other thing that really helped me was being able to tour with bands like Mastodon and Cephalic Carnage and becoming friends with some of the best musicians out there have set the bar for what i need to do. The bands i play in and toured/recorded with are Noisear,Phobia,Kill The Client,and Gridlink.

SD.com: How old were you when you started playing?

Bryan: I was twelve years old

 

 

SD.com: Did you play in a school band or any drum corps?

Bryan: No i did’nt play in school band because i was too busy with my own drum schedule.

 

 

SD.com: Who are your top 5 influences?

Bryan: My top five are Dave Witte, Brann Dailor, Danny Walker, Kai Hahto and Rob Proctor

 

 

SD.com: Assuming that influences doesn’t mean favorites, who are your favorites?

SD.com: Do you find it hard being in 3 bands?

Bryan: Sometimes it is hard,but the bands i play in are in different parts of the country so as long as everyone knows what i am doing it is cool.

SD.com: What do you do to warm up before a show?

Bryan: Go as fast as i can for about twenty minutes on a practice pad usually gets my wrists ready for blast beats.

 

 

SD.com: Can you remember a night you think was your best playing ever? If yes, when and where?

Bryan: I have had alot of good nights,it is hard to just remember just one night.

 

 

 

 

SD.com: Do you have a favorite brand of drums or cymbals?

Bryan: I am always changing up and trying find the best sounds and tones.Zildjian cymbals and DW drums.I have been using Yamaha stage custom advantage for touring.

 

 

SD.com: If you could give one piece of advice to young drummers, it would be…

Bryan: If you want to be one of the best drummers,it has to become your life,Something you have to do all the time in order to progress.

SD.com: If you had to stop drumming, what would you want to do with your life?

Bryan: It would not be easy becuase i prettymuch consumed my life with drumming for the last ten years.Drums are my work trade.
