We're sure you have all heard recently that Joey Jordison has left Slipknot, after 18 long years, five albums, four DVD's, countless tours, six grammy nominations and one grammy award in 2006 for best metal performance. We wish Joey good luck with his band 'Scar The Martyr' and with everything else he does in the future, as well as wish the band continued success.
In the past, Sick Drummer Magazine has helped several bands find new drumming talent and even helped place a few guys in great bands. This contest is not affiliated with the band or management in any way, but we thought what the hell… it couldn't hurt!
It's also a great way to help get your name out there and create some added attention to extreme drumming in general. We will send a contest playlist link to the label for their review and possible news coverage regardless, but do not expect anything from them in return.
How To Enter:
1. Film yourself playing your favorite Slipknot song and upload it to YouTube.
2. In your video description, add a link to our website contest page here: http://www.sickdrummermagazine.com/index.php/win-stuff/current-contests.html.
3. Email us a link to your video with the subject "Slipknot Contest" Send To: contest[at]sickdrummermagazine.com.
What You Can Win:
One winner will be chosen and will receive a full feature interview in an upcoming issue of Sick Drummer Magazine. If you are in a band, you will also win your band a spot on our next Brutal Beatings Compilation! Additionally, as stated above, all videos will be sent to band management… You never know?
Your video must be uploaded by January 15th 2014, no later than 10:00pm EST.
The Rules:
– Triggers are acceptable, but we would prefer to hear natural drum sounds.
– Acoustic and electric drums are acceptable.
– You may enter as many times as you like.
– If you are under 18 and win, we will need parental permission for your inclusion on the compilation, or to be interviewed.
