Rochester Sicko Gives Back!

Last year's December to Remember event– a seasonal music celebration held at Pineapple Jacks restaurant and bar in Gates, NY – netted three very large bags of new toys and over $1,400 for kids at Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong. This year, the night is set for making magic and music again on Saturday, Dec. 2. Pineapple Jacks, located at 507 Spencerport Road in Gates, will feature tunes ranging from rock and roll to heavy metal, delivering 10 hours of local talent from at least nine bands. "I'm a dad myself – to a 9-year-old guitarist, actually – so I know the importance of helping kids, especially kids staying in hospital over the holidays,” said John Paradiso of God-Rot, the event's organizer. “A music benefit that would ultimately work to brighten their stay just made sense – especially after last year's overwhelming success and everyone insisting that I `must do this again next year.'”

The night will bring raffles, giveaways and of course, non-stop music starting at 4 p.m. and running until 2 a.m. Admission is $10 at the door or a toy of equivalent value – both will be donated to the region's only children's hospital.
