I never had the chance to meet Vitek or see Decapitated play, but all the people I know that have, had nothing but great things to 
say. It's incredibly tragic to hear of this young man's early passing and I'm saddened to be writing on such a subject. The only light I can see within this tragedy, is the true emotion that so many people have shown over this premature loss.
I was working on Friday at about 5:00 when the phone rang and it was Marco Pitruzzella calling to ask if I had heard about the accident. Marco had the pleasure of meeting Vitek and was obviously blown away by the news. We talked for a while about their tour together and drumming in general. This, another subtle tribute to the effect Vitek had on those he did meet. Marco could not say enough about how amazing he was as an individual, as well as a player.
I am sorry I never had the chance to meet him, so now I just bow my head in awe of the huge impression this young man made among drummers and his friends alike. Much respect and hope to his Family and Friends in this time of grief…. You will be missed by many Vitek!
