About drummer, Trynt Kelly: I Started seriously playing at around age 12 when I heard bands like Metallica and Megadeth. What I would say really changed my musical life was watching the Monolith of Death tour VHS by Cannibal Corpse, Vile/Gallery of Suicide albums, and pretty much the entire Morbid Angel discography up to Gateways to Annihilation (Gateways was just mind-blowing for me). From there, I pulled a ton of influence from John Longstreth, all of the Belphegor drummers (especially Torturer), Nils, and of course Derek Roddy/George Kollias. I played in several local bands but mainly with my previous band, Marasmus, is where I spent my time developing my playing. From there, I filled in for Unmerciful on a tour in the summer of 2017 and was honored to have been asked to officially join the band full-time before the tour’s end. I look forward to seeing all of you at some shows and thoroughly appreciate you reading/watching.

Founded in 2001, Unmerciful released its debut, “Unmercifully Beaten” in 2006. With intensive tour runs from 2006 through 2009 with the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Necrophagist, Decrepit Birth, Cryptopsy and more. Through a few lineup changes within the band, it was put to rest for a few years.
The band was on hiatus from 2009 to 2012, then reformed to start writing the follow-up album. The band recruited John Longstreth (Origin, Dim Mark, Gorguts, etc.) to record the drum for “Ravenous Impulse,” which was huge growth for the band from the previous album. It was also their last album on Unique Leader Records.
Unmerciful is now on Willowtip Records. “Wrath Encompassed” will be unleashed upon the Earth on April 24th, 2020. The new album is darker, faster and more aggressive then anything UNMERCIFUL has released to date!!
