We asked Sean Reinert of Cynic for an update on his new project with Eyal and Emil of Daath… Here is what he had to say:
"At the moment it’s an untitled project. I have about 5 songs already demoed and waiting for another 5. I am scheduled to track my drums mid November with engineer extraordinaire John Hiler (Smashing Pumpkins/Liz Phair/ Duncan Sheik) in North Hollywood.
I have actually known Eyal for quite a long time. He came in to Capitol Mastering in Hollywood (where I was working at the time) to master one of Daaths’ CD’s in like 2003 or 2004. Then I happened to see him passing out flyers in London at a Cannibal Corpse show (Aeon Spoke was doing shows in London). So when he asked me in late 2008 if I would be interested in a instrumental metal project I said sure. When I found out they (Daath) were the direct support for us on the Dragonforce tour last May I was super stoked. I had more fun on that tour than I think I ever had and got a chance to really get to know those guys. The music is a lot like both of those guys, FUN!"
Stay tuned for more updates on this project as they become available. We will be looking to get some studio footage of Sean’s tracking, so you don’t want to miss that!
