Drummer Rod Chaverri & Sight of Emptiness are currently shopping their recently completed album, Instincts, to various labels. Guest appearances include Christian Älvestam (Scar Symmetry, AtomaA, Miseration), Glen Drover (Megadeth, King Diamond), Ralph Santolla (ex-Deicide, ex-Obituary, ex-Death), Ole Halvard Sveen (Extol, Lengsel), Whitfield Crane (Ugly Kid Joe), and the Costa Rican Minister of Culture, Manuel Obregón.
The CD was recorded at SoloHits Studios in San José, Costa Rica with Swedish producer Thomas "Plec" Johansson (Scar Symmetry, Watain, Miseration), who traveled all the way to Costa Rica to work with the band closely for about 22 days. The album was mixed and mastered by Thomas Johansson at The Panic Room Studios in Skara, Sweden.
Instincts tells stories based on the region´s flora and fauna; the richest wildlife imaginable. The album focuses on nature, and its gravest threat: mankind. Songs are based on animals, insects and natives. Lyrics explore two different perspectives: animals´ lifestyle in their environment, and humans not being able to respect it and co-exist with them.
