They said it wouldn’t happen. They were dead wrong. Legendary brutal death metal squadron Skinless will unite for a very special one-off performance June 19th at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, New York! Featuring the classic lineup that helped rearrange the face of death metal with their soul-crushing Progression Towards Evil and Foreshadowing Our Demise full-lengths (1998 and 2001 respectively), vocalist Sherwood Webber, drummer Bob Beaulac, guitarist Noah Carpenter and bassist Joe Keyser are once again prepared to pummel. Co-headlining the show will be Burning Human featuring Shadows Fall drummer Jason Bittner. Support will come from Wasteform, Israfel and Circle Nine.
"I don’t know exactly how it came about or where it’s going but Skinless will be playing a killer show with the classic lineup…," commented Webber, in the midst of gearing up for a mini tour through Europe next month (which will include a performance at the Neurotic Deathfest in Tilburg) with his current band, ENEMY REIGN. "I don’t know how to describe the Upstate, New York scene accurately to the outsider but those who lived it know exactly what I’m talking about. Any of the NYHC and death metal bands can tell you how insane the scene was in the late ’90s. Troy-core, death metal, hardcore, straight edge bands — all friends, all purveyors of different styles with the common ground of the scene. Ted Etoll [Step Up Presents] was largely responsible for promoting and developing tons of bands and Skinless was one of them. He’s been a longtime friend, mentor and brother and I look forward to the show with huge excitement. It’s going to rule. I’m also excited to rejoin my Skinless brothers for a show with our long time friends Burning Human. The upstate scene is like no other on the planet and to return for a sick show like this is a dream come true! Definitely some cataclysmic metal events on the horizon!"
"It’ll be great to take the stage with Sherwood again. We built this band together throughout the ’90s, and I look forward to crushing like old times" added Carpenter, who’s been busy writing with his thrash band Armor Column (the band is set to record their debut full-length this summer).
