I was born on August 12, 1985 and started drumming when I was twelve to dance music in spanish, but after being exposed to hard rock bands like Van Halen, Cranberries, Megadeth, I completely turned over to Hard Rock and Metal. What really got me into metal was when I was a sophomore in high school, my brother came home with a Judas Priest album called Painkiller. Once he played it for me and I heard the first few seconds of the drum intro I was completely blown away and remember thinking to myself 'holy crap'. I didn't even know that kind of drumming was possible. After hearing Scott Travis shred on drums like that I was inspired to pursue metal drumming even further and went out and bought a second bass drum. Once I felt confident enough about my metal drumming I sought out to find other metal musicians to start a band with and that's when I found the current guitarist and singer for my metal band Sacred Storm, Kenny Krenzin. He is an incredible guitarist and could shred so hard even at a young age. We arranged online to do a jam and he had no idea I was a girl. When he arrived at my house, we set everything up in my garage and the first song we busted out was Painkiller. He tells me up to this day he was so impressed I was able to play it and pull it off! He knew then, I would definitely be the drummer. Click "Read More" for the rest of the story and links to check out Lux…
I currently play with Sacred Storm and Mystery Hangup, all female indie experimental punk rock band and have done projects in between like playing on Warped Tour last summer and opening for Joan Jett prior to that. I was in Drum! Magazine's September '06 and April '07 Issues and recently set the record with WFD – World's Fastest Drummer for single strokes in the female division. I play drums in stilettos 😀 and i'm currently working on a drum jam with Gene Hoglan in a few weeks when he gets back to LA. Some drum heroes of mine include Dave Lombardo, Terry Bozzio, Gene Hoglan. I can never get away from metal music, it's a major part of my life, and I enjoy playing it. I know drumming for females is a little harder compared to males in the physical aspect of it so I make sure to condition hard because I want to be just as good as any other male or female drummer out there and maybe even better.
I'm producing a tour with Sacred Storm called SHRED OR BE DEAD TOUR. It's going to be a national tour starting here in Orange County, going up north, across the states and back through the southern states in support of our debut album 'Man Versus Machine' which will be released the second week of April. We recently confirmed to be opening for Kamelot at the Key Club in September when we return from tour. My Setup consists of a Yamaha Stage Custom drum set, two bass drums, Tama Iron Cobra pedals, 16", 17", & 18" Paiste Signature series Crash cymbals, 22" Paiste Medium Heavy Wild Ride cymbal, 18" Wuhan China, Pro-Mark lux signature 747 Japan Oak sticks, and Coffin Case's Coffin Stick Bag. If I could be like any drummer out there, i'd like to be like Dave Lombardo. I'm a huge fan of his work with both Slayer and Fantomas.
