Here is a look inside the studio with Gorgasm’s Kyle Christman, tracking ‘Visceral Discharge,’ from the most recent record “Destined To Violate.” This is the fourth full-length from the band, and was released on New Standard Elite Records. The album was recorded and mixed at Belle City Sound (formerly Studio One) in Racine, WI. Drums used are Pearl Masters MCX. All Saluda cymbals, aside from one Zildjian Z Custom Mega Bell ride cymbal. Drum pedals are Axis longboard A21 custom, with deep rockers and heavy duty springs. Kyle is currently endorsed by Axis Percussion and Saluda Cymbals.
When we asked Kyle about the entire recording process, his response was simple: “We decided to do absolutely no sampling, quantizing, or editing of the drums on this album. All one-take play-throughs, and no click tracks… to keep the natural live feel and sound.”
