Mankind’s sense for creativity probably manifests best in the sheer unlimited ways of torturing, mutilating, and killing each other. Successfully applying this atrocious inventiveness to their perversely precise sonic executions, “European death metal butchers” Aborted with members hailing from Belgium, France & UK have refined and re-defined the tools of their trade on their seventh full-length “Global Flatline” to murder the listener with unimaginably gruesome, shockingly diverse brutality.
After the already much-lauded Century Media debut “Slaughter & Apparatus: A Methodical Overture” their newest effort turns out to be Aborted’s most meticulous, ferocious and variable to date. Whether they pummel the listener with relentless blastbeats, fester in your veins with infectious grooves, cut arteries utilizing sadistically shredding leads and gurgle, snarl with inhuman violence, these guys make sure they leave no witnesses to their evil deeds.
“Global Flatline” impresses with a more raw and extreme, effective songwriting emphasizing dynamics and darker, refreshingly modern elements that broaden the extremely lethal death metal the band has been known and feared for since its conception in 1995.
Combining the band’s undeniable live energy with a powerhouse production from Eric Rachel (The Red Chord, The Black Dahlia Murder, God Forbid etc.) and a “fuck you’ rock’n roll” approach to the overly edited, sterile sounding death metal records of today, Aborted succeed in retaining their vicious roots while evolving in terms of melody, musical virtuosity and vigor. Taking the album’s lyrical concept of true crime, serial killer topics quite literally, Colin Marks’ frighteningly realistic and brutal artwork for “Strychnine.213” reinforces the notion that Aborted have doubtlessly developed into extreme metal’s most promising new breed.
Having toured with Behemoth, Kataklysm, Cryptopsy or lately Heaven Shall Burn, sharing festival stages with Hatebreed, Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, the Belgian quintet is highly respected for its intense live shows. In Aborted’s degenerated worldview murder is fun and you will be delighted to be killed by their new aural toxin…

Ataxia is a unique death metal band hailing from London, Ontario Canada. Conceived in 2008 as a video concept performance, Ataxia released their first demo “A.I.cide” accompanied by a drum machine. After a long 3 year search a drummer was found and a new Ataxia was born. They will be releasing their new 13-track album entitled “Nefarious” in the summer of 2013. Consisting of former members from Excruciating Thoughts, Orchidectomy, Heaven Ablaze, The Myriad Burial/Fetus Feast and Thine Eyes Bleed. This all-star line-up sheds new light on brutality and technicality in the Canadian Death-metal scene. A must see live, they deliver bone-crushing riffs and mind splitting blast beats, that are fronted by a barrage of powerhouse vocals. This technical onslaught does not stop at just drums and guitar, as the bass is a bastardized calamity of Webster/Claypool style playing. These four musical minds are set on making original, extreme experimental music that is sure to shed a fresh sound on the ears of the Death-metal community.
Ataxia is:
Derek Lee – Lead Vocals
Nigel Curley – Guitar/Vocals
Mark “Zumlahr” Chandler – Bass/Vocals
Nate Mitic – Drums/Vocals

CHRONICLES OF SUBMISSION – www.chroniclesofsubmission.com
Chronicles of Submission is a metal band based out of Nashville, TN. Although the country capital of the world is dominated by the twang of steel guitar and pretty little girls in shiny costumes, this has never had any effect on the aggression or passion of Chronicles.
Chronicles of Submission was formed in 2012 by Scott Mincey (drums) and Don Corn (vocals). Looking to push their internal envelope, they decided to combine years of experience, thoughts and music to make the band they had always wanted. With a background based in trash/death metal and an open mind, they came up with the beginnings of Chronicles. Scott offered recordings to start the project and Don began the process of arranging patterns and developing lyrics. Once the first song was established they knew that this endeavor was exactly what they had been striving for. With 6 songs put to demo they started the search for the people to complete the package.
Russell Hudgins (guitar) was introduced into the band in January of 2013. His grasp of what was already in place and his drive to write new material immediately pushed the group into overdrive to get this product live.
John Hooper (bass) was brought in in March of 2013. His undeniable desire and instant commitment to the group was immediately recognized and his playing ability matched his desire.
With a full band in place Chronicles is poised to release their first recording and put this product where it is meant to be, on the stage. The aggressive nature of this band is going to make people stand up and listen.

CODE RED – www.codered.ro
Code Red is a death metal band from the city of Brașov in Transylvania, Romania. The band released its first EP called “Stronger than Lust” in 2006, containing three songs (“Stronger than Lust”, “Empty Embrace” and “Morphine”). After two of the former members having to leave the band, in 2010 the band was revitalized by founder Andrei Calmuc (guitars/vocals) along with new guitar player Armand Niculescu and new drummer Septimiu Hărșan as a much more brutal and complex sounding project, definitely becoming one of the heaviest Romanian acts to date. Since then, Code Red shared the stage with bands such as Sinister, Mastic Scum and Malevolent Creation and took part in various festivals such as OST 2012 (Romania) or The Next Generation Rock 2011 (Bulgaria). In 2012, the band recorded the single “Way of Nibiru” as a preview of what is to come on the band’s first full-length studio material, which is due to be released later in 2013. A re-recorded version of the song will be heard on the band’s upcoming album as well.

CRUCIFIXION BR – www.crucifixionbr.com
A Brazilian Black Metal band formed in 1996, in the south of Brazil, renewed the brazilian metal scene with the aim of creating an original, diabolic and brutal Black Metal, having various influences of 80’s thrash metal, death metal and having as their essence the black metal roots. The band’s name ‘Crucifixion’ was chosen by Lord Grave War, inspired by the name of a Sepultura song.
In 2004 they’ve moved to Porto Alegre, constructing since then a big experience in concerts through the southern area in Brazil, taking part of diverse festivals as the headliners, and supporting Krisiun in their last show of the Assassination Tour in 2007. Also in 2011 they have supported Dark Funeral together with irish thrashers Gama Bomb on the Satanic War Tour in Brazil.
The band has previously released in their hometown, Rio Grande, two demo-CD’s in 2002, named ‘In The Shadows Of The Obscurity’ and ‘Diabolical Profecies’, having swedish musician Jan Felipe Queiroz a.k.a. Den Rode Med Horn (x-bassist of swedish dark ambient band ‘MZ.412’) as their bassist. These demos have received good reviews in metal mags around the world. Still in 2002 they took part on the compilation ‘Metal Crusader’ by Radio Muda from SP, being the spotlight in other metal radios and reaching the audience outside southern american boundaries.
Crucifixion BR keeps expanding their horizons in the extreme metal scene, and the year of 2011 came as a great year for the band, releasing in August 1st an EP named “War Against Christian Souls” through Satanica Productions, a label from New Zealand. This EP contains three tracks from the upcoming full-length album, called “Destroying The Fucking Disciples Of Christ”, with 12 tracks plus a Venom tribute. DEEDS OF FLESH – www.deedsoffleshmetal.com
Deeds of Flesh was formed back in mid 1993 by Jacoby Kingston, Erik Lindmark and Joey Heaslet. Before Deeds of Flesh, we were all in different bands and all felt that we were being held back and knew what we could create together, so we formed Deeds of Flesh. Our goal at the time was to push the envelope , so to speak, in the current scene with a more technical, intense style of song writing.
After taking 3 months to write the first CD entitled “Gradually Melted”, we released it through various labels. It took off explosively in the underground, gaining worldwide recognition extremely fast. Touring included: U.S. supporting Broken Hope/Malevolent Creation/Oppressor and Monstrosity.
In late 95′, after various offers, we signed with Repulse Records for a 2 CD deal. We released our first full length CD entitled “Trading Pieces” in 96′, not much touring for this cd was done due to Joey having to leave the band temporarily because of schooling opportunities but the cd took off anyway. Touring included: supporting Incantation in Europe, Fuck the Commerce 1 festival, headlining U.S. tour supported by Vile/Devourement(TX only).
Our second Repulse Records release “Inbreeding the Anthropophagi” was released in 1998 and featured Joeys replacement Brad Palmer. The release was over the top technically and included guest vocals from Matti Way of Disgorge. Touring included: Deeds of Flesh/Dying Fetus U.S. and Canadian tour, Milwaukee Metalfest 1998, Ohio Deathfest 1999.
Also in 98′ we re-released a new remastered version of “Gradually Melted” with all new artwork. Touring during this time period was also limited due to Brad having to leave the band.
In 1999, Deeds picked up guitarist Jim Tkacz and got original Drummer Joey Heaslet back in the band long enough to record “Path of the Weakening”, which was written from beginning to end and recorded all in 2 1/2 months time. This was the debut release for the band’s own record label – Unique Leader Records – on which, all following Deeds of Flesh CDs would be released. We brought a darker element to our songwriting with this release, which has stuck with us ever since, although still keeping the original Deeds of Flesh intensity.
Soon after, Mike Hamilton also joined Deeds to take on the task of drumming for the band full time. Jimmy T, after recording Path and joining us for a headlining Brazilian tour, left the band to take care of personal family matters. Jared Deaver, formerly of Impaled/Psypheria, was hired to replace him. Touring included: Bloodletting N. America 1- headlining U.S. and Canada with Cephalic Carnage/Disgorge/Mortal Decay, headlining tour in Brazil, Death Across America(U.S.):Vader/Dying Fetus/Deeds of Flesh/Cephalic Carnage, Milwaukee Metalfest 2002. Jared had one too many obligations back home and had to leave the band.
In 2001, Deeds of Flesh then released “Mark of the Legion”, once again as a three piece. Aaron Gustofson joined soon after on guitar to help with 2 tours. Touring included: Bloodletting N. America 2-Monstrosity/Deeds of Flesh/Pyaemia, Gutting Europe 2-Deeds of Flesh/Disgorge/ Pyaemia, Fuck the Commerce 4 festival, U.S. tour with-Cannibal Corpse/Malevolent Creation/Hate Eternal/Macabre/Deeds of Flesh/Cephalic Carnage, New England Metal and Hardcore Festival.
In 2003, Deeds of Flesh releases “Reduced to Ashes”, our 5th full-length release. Touring Included: Europe-Hate Eternal/Dying Fetus/Deeds of Flesh/Prejudice, New Zealand/Australia headlining with Psycroptic, Canada headlining with Mortal Decay. The DVD ”Live in Montreal” was also released at this time and featured a video for “Crown of Souls” the upcoming CD and a full live set from the headlining Canadian tour.
In December of 2004, Deeds recorded “Crown of Souls” for a 2005 release – their 6th full-length album. This was the first release to feature the artwork of the famous Raymond Swanland. Before touring for “Crown of Souls”, Deeds picked up lead guitarist Sean Southern. Touring included: Gutting Europe 5-Monstrosity/Deeds of Flesh/Impaled/Vile, Bloodletting N. America 5-Deeds of Flesh/Vile/Decrepit Birth/Odious Mortem.
In Early 2007, Jacoby retired from the band and was replaced by Erlend Caspersen from Norway. With the new line up the band decided to add more elements of over writing from the 2nd guitar and bass rather then writing as a 3 piece as in the past. The band also took a different vocal and lyrical approach. The previous Deeds of Flesh CDs all lyrically dealt with the darker sides of the human condition, and tragedy ranging from many different subject matters. Now we are basing content on the future of human existence, concentrating on a new concept of mankind’s place in the universe and the challenges faced.
This brings us to the 2008 release “Of What’s to Come” which brought many new elements to the band, especially on the guitars including more lead work and over writing. The Vocals were also approached in a more aggressive direction.
Now in 2013, the band is set to release its 9th studio release, “Portals to Canaan”, which features 2 new members: Craig Peters (lead guitar) & Ivan Munguia (bass), continuing the over the top musical structures and adding new chapters to the band’s ever-evolving lyrical concepts.

Diminished is Deathgrind band from the Lone Star State since 2005, with three full-length albums out entitled Chainsaw Cunt (2-19-2010 Sevared Records) & Rectal Torment (12-9-2010 Sevared Records) & Origin of Apocalypse (2-8-12 Sevared Records). We are currently working the “indie circuit” Build off the shoulders of Daniel Andrew Balle and Michael Pinkard the duel has seem many members come and go, but the passion and dream remains the same; to be the best band by giving the people their money’s worth.

Dysphoria are a 3-piece Los Angeles based instrumental post-rock band with djent and metallic tendencies.  They combine the sincerity and emotional dexterity of Mogwai, Sigur Ros, and The Cure with the thunder and odd-time signatures of Meshuggah, Isis and Cult of Luna to create a truly compelling statement. Their members come from bands spreading across a multitude of genres (punk, psychobilly, metal, brit-pop, etc.) to create a truly unique sonic perspective.
The band has recorded two albums thematically based on a continuous storyline. The plot picks up with the second album, “Psalms In The Key of Death”, when a male character’s life is rendered completely meaningless to him, after developing behavior cognitions upon meeting a woman (the heroine). Throughout the entire album, the listener is taken through the character’s tortured and obsessive reflections of his experience, until he ultimately chooses to end his life, unable to withstand being forever haunted by his failures.
Having an intense plot line, the music follows suit – based on creating sounds representative of pure and utter disdain — but being balanced by maintaining melodies and hook lines, as well as through the band’s differing writing influences.
The band is currently finalizing their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/dysphoria1 and also looking to play shows all around the greater Los Angeles area and beyond as they finalize their arrangements behind procuring a distribution deal for the previously aforementioned album.  In addition, on the horizon will be a re-recorded version of the past albums with the new lineup and an increase in their technical capabilities.
For all booking inquires, please contact the band at: dysphoriaband1@gmail.com

Extremely Rotten formed in 2009 with Juan Campo on drums, Jim Greco on guitar, and Mario Antolines on vocals. After 2 months Mario had to leave and Franz Huffman joined on vocals. 4 months later the self-titled demo was recorded and self-released and was distributed by sevared records, with Jim Ross on studio guitars.
The band played several shows all over Florida and in 2010 Franz left the band and was replaced by Chris Gaines. Chris Mason also joined on guitars. The band kept working on the writing process for their full length, and toured the East coast from Florida to NYC and in mid 2011 , Mike Shaw  joined on guitars and Cliff Newkirk on bass.
The band played several shows and played the Goregrowlers ball 2011 with Shawn Whitaker (viral load) filling in on vocals. After that performance the band got asked to play Las Vegas death fest 2012 and got signed to Show No Mercy records. On their return home in early 2012, the band toured the summer from Florida to Vegas,  shortly after Michael Pinkard joined the band.
In august 2012 the band entered the studio and recorded their first full length “Grotesque Acts of Humanity” and for the album both Jim Greco and Jim Ross recorded the guitars, Mike Shaw the bass, Michael Pinkard recorded the vocals and Juan on drums. Feastem was formed in 2005 by Kari (vocals), Olli (guitar) and Antti (bass), three Lybecker School of Arts & Crafts students in a small port town of Raahe, on the northwestern coast of Finland. Their intent was simple: to play the fastest, most pissed off grindcore imaginable. After trying out a couple of drummers they met with Patrik, another member of the Lybecker alumni, who very early on showed incredible prowess when it came to blasting. After an intense writing and rehearsal period, the band went on with their first live assault at the school’s own Lybestock festival in early 2006.
Feastem recorded and released their first EP, ”Psychotic Excess” in the summer of 2006. They played a bunch of gigs and wrote a bunch of new songs through the year and by the spring of 2007, the band recorded the ”Worthless” promo-EP, which landed them a record deal with Singapore’s grind merchants, Scrotum Jus Records.December 2007 saw the band entering the infamous Finnvox studios with engineer / producer Panu Posti. The session resulted in Feastem’s first full-length album, ”Fear in Concrete”, a ruthless exercise in unrelenting grindcore. Due to production issues, the album was not released until the autumn of 2008 to critical acclaim and praise from the grindcore underground. Around that time they also embarked on a European tour with The Arson Project from Sweden, performing in almost every corner of Europe in a hectic two-week period.
Feastem started another European tour in the summer of 2009, this time with Greek grinders Slavebreed. Even though the tour featured great moments like a performance at the Obscene Extreme festival, it was unfortunately cut short after the band’s car was broken into and the injuries Kari sustained before going on tour became too much to handle. The performance at Obscene Extreme Fest lead to the signing of a new record deal with Czech Republic’s finest grind label, Obscene Productions. Unhindered by hardship and encouraged by the newly inked deal, Feastem finished writing new material by the end of the year and recorded a new album titled ”World Delirium” during late 2009 / early 2010, again with Panu Posti behind the desk. 2010 also brought along a change in the lineup, as Kari was replaced by Petri from Helsinki-based crustgrinders Famine Year. The final vocal recordings for ”World Delirium” took place in early winter of 2010 and the album was unleashed in January 2011 by Obscene Productions.
”World Delirium” garnered great reviews from all over the globe, some praising the band as a definite contender to the throne of Rotten Sound or Nasum, all the while retaining their own touch to the modern day grindcore ethos. Hot on the heels of the release, Feastem started playing shows all over Finland, refining their live performance to a jaw-dropping level of intensity. In the summer of 2011, the band was invited again to perform not only at the Obscene Extreme Fest itself, but also at the pre- and after parties in Prague. Feastem also took the stage at Finland’s prestigious Tuska Open Air, gaining rave reviews and new fans with their energetic live show. The band went on yet another tour in Europe, this time with fellow Finns GAF & Nothing More To Eat. Once again, they suffered a setback when their van was stolen halfway through the tour. They soldiered on for a couple of shows but as finances faded, they had to admit defeat and head back home.
Feastem had already started writing material for their third record by the time ”World Delirium” was recorded and released and by the spring of 2012, the recordings were in full gear at The Grind Research Lab and Posti Studios. The band finished 25 new cuts, a cover of Sayyadina’s ”Swallow” + re-recorded the title track from 2006′s ”Psychotic Excess” EP. ”Swallow” and 7 new tracks are to appear on a limited 10″ split with Kill The Client, released by Doomstar Records for the Kill The Client / Feastem European tour in the fall of 2012.
The new full-length, ”Avaritia Humanae” is set for an early 2013 release through Obscene Productions (CD) & L’inphantile Collective (LP). Expect an unforgiving barrage of blistering, violent grind, delivered with sheer frenzied fury and precision to match.

Gethsemane is a christian metal band from Ohio, TN, and Alabama. We all currently live in Alabama. Gethsemane is a mixture of deathcore/metal with beautiful singing melodic choruses.
We are a ministry based band that speads the gospel of Jesus Christ. We show that christianity isn’t just about going to church but it is about intimacy with God and releasing His Kingdom here on earth. It’s about living in holiness. We love people and love playing music for them.

Hailing from Providence RI and formed in 2006, Howl is a thick, sludgey doom metal band made up of Vincent Hausman, Josh Durocher-Jones, Robert Icaza, and Tim St. Amour. After graduating together from Rhode Island School of Design, Hausman and St. Amour decided to focus their efforts on what had previously been a hobby, their college band.  They derived their name from a Allen Ginsberg’s poem “Beat Generation” and quickly began writing riff based metal, heavy enough to move earth.
Who better than to describe their sound than the band: “The new album is, if anything, more extreme than the EP, moving from aggression to slow doom metal, through both black metal atmospheres and blues-based harmonies. We really tried to incorporate the various styles in metal we love, though never losing sight of what this band is ultimately about: the almighty riff.” (Noisecreep, Dec 2009)
Amidst DIY tours and dozens of local shows, the band released their debut self-titled EP in 2008.  This quickly led to a record deal with Relapse Records, who re-released the EP in 2009.
They have released two albums: their self-titled EP (2009) and their debut full-length “Full of Hell” (2010, recorded with Keith Souza). After debuting their music they evolved their sound to be, as the band puts it, “darker, more developed, and everything is more extreme.” (Metalunderground) After making quite an impression with their self-titled EP, Howl signed to Relapse Records in 2009.
Howl released a music video for “Heavenless” in May 2011 off their album “Full of Hell”. It was directed by Charlie Scharfman and produced by Alex Scharfman of Scharfman Productions. And as Bloody Disgusting said, “don’t let your boss catch you watching it.”
Howl has toured North America and Europe with bands such as Kylesa, Torche, Young Widows, Coliseum, Skeletonwitch, Crowbar, Helmet & Saint Vitus, Red Fang, and Black Tusk. Howl is currently touring in support of ‘Full of Hell.’

KRISIUN – www.krisiun.com.br
Brazilian death metalers Krisiun triumphantly return with their newest monument of brutality, “The Great Execution”, set for release on November 1st in North America and October 31st in Europe!
“The Great Execution” is the band’s 8th studio album and musically expands Krisiun’s trademark high speed death metal violence with a heavily increased amount of diversity, ranging from extreme tempo variations over distinct rhythm patterns to clean guitars—-and even Flamenco parts!
Krisiun only used analog gear and instruments while recording this album to avoid the compressed sound that so many musicians produce today. This wise decision resulted in a more organic sound, with the songs on “The Great Execution” possessing both a warmth and a rawness that is so often lost through digital production. The low end is deeper, with drums that pound instead of bounce and guitar tones that sear rather than hiss.
“With our new record we managed to capture the sound and the vibe that we were always looking for,” adds vocalist/bassist Alex Camargo. Going back to Stage One Studio in Germany and working with Andy Classen again was the right choice. The album came out with a very distinctive and natural sound, shattering the boundaries of the style once more.
“The Great Execution” will be available as a limited edition digipak, including a re-recorded version of the classic Krisiun song “Black Force Domain” as a bonus track, plus as a180g gatefold vinyl and as a digital download.

KRYOSPHERE – www.kryosphere.net
The death metal collective that is Kryosphere hails from Edmonton, Canada, and was formed out of creative necessity in 2008. Current members are Brent Bell (Drums), Stephanie Bell (Bass), Derek Braun (Guitar), Dave Waram (Guitar), and Davis Hay (Vocals).
With Kryosphere’s now stable lineup, everything has crystalized – they will not be stopped until their “Pure Canadian Death Metal” has reached a dominating position. Kryosphere, at its core, has always maintained strong connections with old-school Death Metal sound, while embracing the new ideas of their younger peers. In short, they are a modern death metal band that knows how to draw a crowd across the massive gulf of metal fans.
Great attention has been placed on song writing, and it shows on the new self-released EP, “SOL”. The uniquely structured music of “SOL” has memorable riffs that are often lacking in today’s metal. Soaring solos accompany thick bang along sections, while thumping bass drives the overall feeling of every song. Inventive and technical drumming steer the band through multiple time changes and differing movements.

MagnaCult is back – angrier than ever, and ready to crush you with their second album, Insua EnVenom. With their signature mix of thrash and death metal, MagnaCult turns up the volume. Get ready to bleed: MagnaCult’s killing season is open.
With their second album, Insua EnVenom, MagnaCult – Seb (vocals), Spit (bass and backing vocals), Tomas (guitar, acoustic), D. (guitar, acoustic), and Bionic (drums) take their sound to the next level. More brutal and technical than their 2007 debut Synoré, Insua EnVenom is faster and more powerful, packed with massive guitar solos and full of groove.
“Insua EnVenom means true inner strength,” explains Bionic. “Everyone has inner strength, but it’s only the person who lives in an advanced state of self-consciousness who can force themselves to become the best they can be. Putting yourself down with words, behavior, drugs and thoughts will keep you from attaining this power. And there are always external forces that will try to make you fail. This is the main subject of MagnaCult’s new album Insua EnVenom.”
The band has toured through Europe, sharing stages with DevilDriver, Ill Niño, Five Finger Death Punch, Shadows Fall and Kittie. “Touring with these awesome, hard-working bands was an amazing experience,” says Tomas.
“We can’t wait to get back on the road and crush audiences with our new record – we’re ready to take MagnaCult to the next level,” adds Seb.
“I know our fans will enjoy our new songs,” adds Spit. “They understand where we come from, what MagnaCult is about. They are our army and continue to stand side by side with us. We’re ready, we’re hungry, we’re angry. We’re MagnaCult!”
Insua EnVenom
Insua EnVenom opens with the first single, true MagnaCult track ‘Torment’, featuring the spectacular drumming Bionic is known for. “The first pearl of our second album slams you right in the jaw,” says Seb. “It’s a personal view on surrendered people who deliver themselves as slaves to religion and society. We believe in our own power and choose to live life the way it is. Pure, honest and no bullshit.”
“That’s how all of us are standing in our own life,” adds bassist Spit. We won’t be slaves, we use our own strength, and live our lives the way we want. We’re not followers – we lead our own destiny.”
‘Hell’s in Me’ was one of the first songs written for the record, and set the style for writing the other songs. With its melodic bridge and killer outro riff, ‘Hell’s in Me’ set the standard for more guitar solos and a bigger sound than the band’s debut album. “It’s songs like this the MagnaCult fans want to hear,” says Bionic. “It’s fast, it’s got groove, and it makes you sing along knowing that hell is in you!”
Starting out as a jam with a riff D. wrote, ‘Submission’ has evolved into a grooving track with some killer guitar work. “’Submission’ gives my answer to underestimation and humiliation from the past,” says Seb. “Be yourself, make your choices and dare to step up.”
“Make the day, make the fist. You are not as good as them: You are better than them,” adds Bionic.
‘Past Defeat’ glides in with acoustic guitars and subtle string arrangements. “We needed some air on this record. Synoré was brutal from start to finish, and we wanted something different with Insua EnVenom – some breathing time to let you prepare for the next crushing hit,” explains D.
The bass opens up and a jazzy drumbeat designed to confuse you adds a twist before the song really gets going. And the lyrics follow suit: “This anthem of pain kicks in after a peaceful period in life. No excuses, no regrets, no preparations and no way back. A notification to your inner-self to wake the hell up!” says Seb.
The ‘Dead Army’ is unburied and stronger than ever: Those who will never die, and wait for you with open arms. “Raise your glass to the fallen, the forgotten and the legends,” says Seb. “Drink enough to feel the demons, and know they are alive.”
Habits and addictions that possess and control you are the focus of ‘Disorder’. Its unpredictability is a mirror on the recurring nature of addiction, and the lyrics warn us that humanity could be poisoned forever. Already a feature on the band’s setlist, ‘Disorder’ is a real crowd pleaser: Circle pits materialize when the song blasts through the sound system. “The slow death metal riff at the bridge is something Bionic came up with,” explains Spit. “He’s the true death metal freak in the band. And the groove is just there all the time.”
Statements’ is about the ruin of mankind. Instead of progressing, evolving, and becoming greater, mankind is mastering only traits such as greed, ego and individualism. “’Statements’ is an exemplar of what MagnaCult stands for,” comments Tomas.
The tripartite epic ‘How Raven Stole the Sun’ features MagnaCult’s first ever instrumental piece. “It represents the moment you lose your mind and your carnal lust turns into torture,” comments D. “Breaking patterns, expectations and playing it really rough can change everything.”
Insua EnVenom concludes with a journey into the psyche of those people seething with anger and vengeance at their tormentors – those who were abused as children. “’The Hate Child’ gives us an insight into the adults craving for their child selves to exact revenge on their abusers,” explains Bionic. “Filled with brutal aggression, this song screams in the face of evil, right to the bitter end.”
Creating the crush
MagnaCult teamed up again with producer Jochem Jacobs, SplitSecondSound Studios, who mixed and mastered this ambitious new album. Guitarist Tomas co-produced the album with Jochem. “Tomas has a great overview and knows how we want to sound, so it was obvious that he should be involved in producing this album,” says Spit. “And working with Jochem again was great. We had such a good vibe working together on Synoré that it was an easy decision to ask him to work with us on this album.”
Jochem already had a great feeling about Insua EnVenom in the early stages of mixing: “It’s not even finished yet, but I already know that the new MagnaCult is gonna be KILLER!! The new songs are all great and this will definitely blow everyone away!”
Insua EnVenom is released on their own label, Synoré Records – named after their debut album. “It’s a tough time to be in the music industry, and this seemed the best choice we could make,” says D. “By starting our own label, we’re keeping everything within the band. The five of us, and our crew, are ready to work hard to get this band on the road and share our music around the world.”
The striking cover art for Insua EnVenom is made by artist Bob Martens, a good friend of the band. It’s based on the comic version of the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. “I’m a big fan of his work,” says D. “The dark side, the other world speaks to me. What comes forward very strong is the journey we’re making with the band, on a path to achieve our higher goals, with all the losses and setbacks we have overcome. The cover represents our journey: The unity, the dark side and the infinite.”
