yeah sure! Frankly I’ve never had the use of memorizing all the brands. I rely on my microphones and I love them all. I trust my engineer Bjørnar to pick the most suitable mics for the given situation, and he has always done a exellent job! Salute!  

Studio Tips:

Being studio-smart is never easy. Your wise-ass bandmates, some talented engineers and a tight budget are always pushing you in different directions.

Practice hard before going into the studio. I can’t stress this enough!! Be prepared for what exactly it is you want to play. You don’t want to do 10 takes on each song, that’s expensive and not very elegant. Also, stay cool, hip and confident. This way you’ll be able to meet unexpected challenges and lay down some cool and original stuff.  You have to be at your best, or else you’ll surely regret it the rest of your life.

Drummer Comments:

Frankly, I hate the actual moment of recording. For me, music is supposed to be a relaxing arena with room for lots of artistic experiments and therefore a lot of technical mistakes. Recording metal music is not like this at all. It’s bloody serious that’s what it is!! I don’t really enjoy my work until I’m done and can listen back to it while enjoying chicken wings and some good, strong coffee!
