Outside of our hometown, our shows are great. Awesome crowd response, tons of moshing, cheering and it s
always a party. We make new friends everywhere we go.
SDM: Who are some of your main drumming influences today and back when you first started? Do you listen
to different styles of music outside of the metal realm?
Black metal has been the driving force behind my drumming. But for my style I take pieces from almost
everything I listen to. My music tastes range from Barry Mannilow to Rompeprop, Mozart to Setherial, Lana
Del Rey to Carnivore Diprosopus and The Smashing Pumpkins to Decrepit Birth.
SDM: How important are your kick pedals to your playing?
There are a lot of double bass patterns in our music. So my kick pedals are very important to me.
SDM: How do you prepare yourself before a show and recording?
I start warming up about halfway through the previous bands set. Along with a beer or two haha.
SDM: Did you ever take drum lessons? Do you play any other instrument? Can you read music like drum
notation or guitar tab?
I was in a drum corp growing up, so I learned the basics and different rudiments from there. Other than that I
learn by ear and by watching. I used to dabble with guitar, but not so much.
SDM: What kind of gear do you use?
My pedals are the Axis X2 series. I use Vic-Firth drumsticks, Zildjian ZBT cymbals, Gibraltar hardware
(although rack is a Pearl Icon) and I use Evans G2 coated heads.
