“Skeletons in the Closet Tour 2009” – October 10th, Pomona, California
By: Derrick Nau of Skeletonwitch
Honestly, I had never heard of Pomona before. I guess it’s considered a suburb of Los Angeles. We played at The Glasshouse to a sold out crowd and it was fucking amazing. It was definitely one of the best responses we have gotten on this tour.
Pomona is a cool little town. We were playing in what I guess is the art district and there definitely some funky shops and galleries to peruse. On top of that there were all kinds of delicious foods to be had and I settled for some Vietnamese noodles. Always a bonus! Outside the show there was some kind of street fair going on with various trinkets and bands playing. Pretty cool. Oh, and there were tons of pretty girls. Did I talk to them you ask? No, of course not.
Prosthetic Records made another appearance tonight. It’s always great to see the guys who are running your life, kind of. We had fun with them, bullshitting over some beers. Also, some of our friends from the Danzig crew came to hang out and it was great to see them…
It turned into a pretty decent party in the green room. Perhaps some boobs were exposed. Perhaps some vodka was chugged. Perhaps some weed got smoked. But, there was definitely some beer drinking going on (cue soundtrack: Life in the Fast Lane).
Tomorrow we have a day off and we are doing some kind of in store performance at Vacation Vinyl in Los Angeles. Right on Hollywood Boulevard. Obviously we are celebrities and it will be swarming with the paparazzi. Not a fuckin’ chance.
