“Skeletons in the Closet Tour 2009” – October 9th, San Francisco, California

Today is our first time playing at The Regency Ballroom. It turned out to be a really nice place with a friendly and professional crew. Good help always makes a show run a hell of a lot more smoothly and makes the night more fun.
Yesterday was a day off with about twelve or fourteen hours in the van. Quite a bit longer than I’d like it to be, but what are you going to do, right? I listened to some old school death metal that I hadn’t heard in a while. I rocked Dismember, Entombed, Obituary and some other brutal shit. I love all the old death ‘n’ roll shit. It grooves so hard, you can’t help but head bang no matter what you’re doing.
We stayed at some hotel in northern California and got some pretty solid Mexican food next door. I of course got beef fajitas, which are always great. I usually try to get the trifecta of chicken, shrimp, and beef if they offer it. I will then douse everything in hot sauce so I can’t tell the difference anyway. Hah. It was a pretty uneventful night. We watched Snatch which is a great flick so all and all I can’t complain.
The show was cool. There was a good, enthusiastic crowd (even though the show started at 6:00pm). Austrian Death Machine will be a part of the tour for the next three or four days and they are fucking cool dudes and more importantly, they love to party. And I love to party so it worked out pretty well.
It seems like there are people from Athens, Ohio all over the known world. We have little niches of Athenian friends all over and San Francisco is no exception. It is a real pleasure seeing a familiar face from back home when you’re out on the road. I try my best to maintain relationships with those people but sometimes it’s hard.
You gotta do what you gotta do though
