“Skeletons in the Closet Tour 2009” – October 7th, Portland, Oregon

The Roseland. We played here one year ago with Glenn Danzig and Dimmu Borgir. It’s cool to be back. It’s weird how these places that are very far from home become familiar but remain totally foreign at the same time. But then again, if I wasn’t writing this blog, I probably wouldn’t even know what day it is. That’s what touring does to you, especially when you wake up hung over and confused every day. Well, not every day.
We have some great friends here who used to live in our hometown: Athens, Ohio. I was really happy to see them. We get to see them about once a year and I always look forward to it. Our buddy “B-wack” (works for Dying Fetus from time to time) also lives in Portland and he is a radical dude.
We also got Voodoo Dough Nuts which I guess is a famous place and has been featured on the ol’ television. We got the voodoo, pentagram, o captain my captain, and the bacon maple bar. They were all pretty delicious.
I had a silly moment at the end of the night. God Dethroned happened to show up at the venue. I saw some guys with tour laminates speaking with Euro accents and someone informed me who they were. I was kind of star struck and wanted to talk to them about Soul Capture 1562. I think ended up sounding stupid instead. Oh well.
