Great Idea – Great Cause…

Hey guys. I hope you’re all doing well. Most of you know me as Cameron Edney (hard rock / heavy metal writer & photographer) Over the next 6 – 8 weeks I will be known more like a man on one hell of a mission to raise as much money as possible for a fantastic charity The Leukaemia Foundation.

 

As many of you know, most of my life I have been a lover of heavy music starting out with bands like Kiss, Ac/dc and Black Sabbath and I’ve never looked back. The years I have spent at live shows headbanging and in some cases providing my own personal air conditioning service has been amazing, but it’s about to come to an end… For a fantastic cause of course.

 

As the New Year rolled around, I had made a decision to change up my appearance this year a little… more tattoos yes, more piercings… maybe, less hair yes yes yes! Quickly I decided I would shave my head but, instead of just doing it, for the hell of it, I wanted to join the World’s Greatest Shave and raise a shit load of money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

 

Now To Some Facts!

 

1. I have not had a major haircut in 10 years. The last time I remember having short hair was March / April 2001
2. Leukaemia affects many lives, not just those that are diagnosed, but the family and friends surrounding them
3. If you do donate, your donation is used by the Leukaemia Foundation to support blood cancer patients and to fund vital research
4. I will be shaving my head on March 12, 2011 All of this long ass hair will be hitting the floor for a fantastic cause
5. I set the goal to raise $500.00, already including cash donations, I have raised over $700.00 in less than a week
6. Let’s see this total rise even higher guys, with your help it can happen!

Not only will I be getting a long overdue haircut, but the money raised is going to a great cause. I’m sure that in some way one form of Cancer or another has affected your life, whether it was a friend or family members passing, diagnosis or maybe even your own. The EVIL that is Cancer has certainly played a role in my life, losing my father, one aunt, one uncle and watching several friends deal with their own family members suffering from this disease. Not to mention some of my Musical heroes losing their battles with Cancer.
