Lessons From George Kollias

I've been for the last 6 days in Athens (Greece) to study drums with the one that I consider the best extreme metal drummer of today: George Kollias. So Far I've studied like 18 hours with him and let me say that this is one of the most unbelieavable experiences of my life…. George has so much skills, so much information, so much power, so much talent…that makes everything look easy.  What really impressed me (besides his earthquake doublebass) is his musicality and his passion for the music, I didn't expect to meet such an open minded musician and a down-to-earth guy.He knows very well the classic drum books as the new ones, he is not just an extreme musician BUT a musician that is dedicated to extreme music. George has the passion to teach and this is something wonderful… because he is always trying to give you the best information and the best tips, this is how every teacher should be. I can't wait to go back home and practice, practice , practice…. This guy made me understand the level that I can reach now…and I am so thankful to him!!! I am writing this to show my appreciation for his work as a drummer as well as my appreciation as him as a person…. This has been a great experience that surely will help bring my drumming to a whole new level.
