EXERSICE 1 – chorus in song: 3 against 4 groove with Double bass. Right hand playing the 4 on the ride, left hand playing the 3 on the snare. With the left hand I'm hitting the circled numbers – 1 (2) 3 (1) 2 (3) 1 (2) 3 (1) 2 (3) 1 (2) 3 (1) 2 (3) 1 (2) 3 (1&)

Right hand is still playing the 4 on the ride in the 3 against 4 groove and accents are placed on the china in groupings of (4 – 3 – 5 – 2 – 2 – 5 – 3 – 4) Accenting the 1 of each number.

EXERCISE 2 – outro with bass guitar:

3 against 4 groove on crash. Feel the 3 on crash with right hand and feel the 4 with the kick drum. I'm hitting every 3 on the crash and hitting the snare just on the 3.

Right hand still playing 3 on crash and accent the china in groupings of (4 – 3 – 5 – 2 – 2 – 5 – 3 – 4) Accenting the 1 of each number.

Left hand accents the left china in cycles of 7. Accent the 1 of each group of 7. There are technically 6 cycles of 7, but in the song originally I never accent the first group of 7 out of the 6. It's your call… 5 cycles or 6 cycles of 7. I showcase both.
