Machine Head Billboard Debut!

Machine Head New Album “The Blackening” Highest Ranking Debut @ #54 On Billboard Top 200…Dominating Radio Charts Highest charting EVER! A New Video Coming Soon, Plus On Tour With Lamb Of God, Trivium and Gojira.  And Joins  Heaven And Hell Tour With Megadeth April 22!!!

On the 27th of March The Blackening was finally unveiled and the response to the new material has been overwhelming! “Machine Head has figured out a way to write songs that are long and compelling, simple and complex, brutal and beautiful. With The Blackening, Machine Head has embarked on a path many bands fear to tread, and they have successfully accomplished a feat that has not been reached since Metallica's – Master of Puppets.”  Metal Edge- March 2007

“The Blackening” MACHINE HEAD’s Sixth release breaks their first week sales record at 14,788 scans and Debuts at #54 on the Top 200 which is their highest debut ever on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.

-Debuts at #4 on the Top Hard Music chart and #2 on the Current Hard Music Chart.

-Debuts #16 in the UK…over Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Hillary Duff and Good Charlotte!!

“In a recent span of time that has seen credible comeback efforts from Slayer and Type O Negative, plus worthy new albums from contenders like Lamb of God, Trivium and Mastodon, it's fitting that Machine Head have topped them all and set the standard for the next big return to form (we're looking at you, Metallica).”  Don Kaye, Blabbermouth.net – March 2007

"We're on the last week of the Lamb of God tour and it's honestly been one of the funnest tours we've ever done. We just finished shooting the video for ‘Aesthetics Of Hate’ in  Virginia. We couldn't have done it without the  the Lamb Of God guys, who helped with everything from finding locations, bringing food, keeping us company and even giving up their sound check so we could have some needed stage time. I think the video is going to be killer, lots of crusty locations and pure raw energy for this one!” muses Drummer Dave McClain.

More exciting news, Machine Head will be supporting one of the coolest bands in Metal History-Heaven and Hell!  “It is truly an honor for all of us in Machine Head to be a part of this unbelievable tour. If that wasn't enough, we are also sharing the stage with another legendary metal great, Megadeth. When the Machine Head set is finished everyone in this band will turn from performers into fans!" Drummer Dave McClain proclaims.

"Super stoked to be going out on the Heaven and Hell tour in America; for those of you living under a rock, that's Black Sabbath with the mighty Ronnie James Dio on vocals, who recorded some of the best songs in all of metal. Megadeth is also on the bill which is fuckin' killer, those two bands are the reason there's a Machine Head, and we are honored to be a part of it. This is gonna be all about paying homage to The Masters."

The Press says!

“An epic thrash attack for the new millennium- The Blackening resets the bar, combining taut, memorable riffs, complex arrangements, and superlative musicianship into a showcase of aggressive yet melodic songwriting that will likely stand as one of the best metal records of the year.”

Revolver – May 2007

“Throughout the time and stylistic changes, you’ll barely notice that The Blackening crams an hour of genuinely creative ideas into eight debilitating tracks…writing compelling protest music, and matching "this is our time to fight" rhetoric with rippling oceans of noise…”The Blackening [is] Machine Head’s best record since Burn My Eyes and the second consecutive release in what’s clearly becoming the band’s renaissance period.”  9/10 Decibel – April 2007

“Hours earlier, the crowd had cheered a savage set by Machine Head, the loudest band of the night….In 2003, Machine Head changed directions with Through The Ashes of Empires, which was heavier and scarier; the evolution continues with The Blackening.” New York Times – March 24, 2007

“They’re a monstrous mechanical middle finger spitting boiling blood in the face of adversity…colossal song structures…infuriating guitar play…bloodthirsty vocals separate this Machine from the countless other screaming bands of hate available on today’s metal market.” DRUM! – April 2007

“Lots of bands lose their way after making an initial splash…Relatively few recover to scale even greater heights. Count Machine Head among that select few….On The Blackening…the band actually adopts the expansive pace of that Metallica classic […And Justice For All].” Time Out New York – March 2007
