It first started when i was around 8 or so when my nieghbor who played drums let me play his kit. He showed me a few simple basic beats and I feel in love. He played in a band , and they coverd white zombie stuff and more or less just simple beated songs. Wich back then, I thought it was the shit. Then for that christmas I asked for a kit. So my parents helped me out there and got me a really shitty 5 peice TKO set. I played around mostly for a while. Then I found out that a guy named Shane Bearden was giving drum lessons at a local church. So I took lessons for around a year and a half, he taught me the basics, mostly jazz and such. After all of  this I had enough knowledge to progress and learn myself. When I was around 13 I found the double bass pedal. Then my brother started guitar and we started jamming in the garage all the time making stupid songs, but for the most part it was really fun then. During school I was in the marching band, I played third bass, but was obsessed with the snare and any chance I got, I put it on and jammed out. Our drum coach was a very talented man named Kevin, he tought me control over the hands and where to add certain things, to fill the parts better, and so and so.

I quit school early b/c i already knew what I wanted to do, and school wasnt cuttin it. I acaully started in a band then that played shows. It lasted a while then things feel through and we gave it up. Now, I am currently the drummer for the band St. Valentines Day Massacre. I have been in this band a year  and we play shows every chance we get. We have successfully made two ep's and are already working on a full length album. We will probably have it done by the end of the summer 07' (so keep updated) , it sounds entirely diff. than the old stuff,  more death/ black metal parts, but I must say, (I love some sick ass grudgey parts) so there still there. Anyways that somes it up.

SD.com: When did you start playing drums?

Jordan: Around the age of 8 and I am currently 17





SD.com: Do you play in a school band or any drum corps?

Jordan: My high school band. Wich despite what people say, I loved it!






SD.com: Have you ever taken any lessons?

Jordan: Yes, For about a year and a half from an awsome drummer named Shane Bearden.

SD.com: Who are your top 5 influences?

Jordan: Budy Rich (amazing jazz drummer), Nick Peirce, Andrew Core and Duane Timlin

 

 

SD.com: Assuming that influences doesn't mean favorites, who are your favorites?

Jordan: Nick Peirce (plays milatary style), Lord Marcco (just plain sick), TIm Yeung (super fast feet), Andrew Core (cool and very solid) and Dave Haley (love his style)






SD.com: Let us know 5 CD's that are in your current rotation

Jordan: Jeez,  Constantly in my cd player now is Dying Fetus, Emplosive Discorgence, Decapitated, New With Faith or Flames, and DEATHKLOK (meatl -appocolispe)






SD.com: Do you practice any specific rudiments or combo's regularly?

Jordan: More right now trying to get more solid drum rolls and different combonations with rolls.

 

 

SD.com: What is your favorite part of your drum kit?

Jordan: My Alesis DM5 trigger setup. or my firecracker snare.






SD.com: If you could give one piece of advice to younger drummers, it would be...

Jordan: Dont ever give up you can always get better!






SD.com: Who gave the best live performance you've ever seen?

Jordan: Napalm Death........period.






SD.com: If you had to stop drumming, what else do you want to do with your life?

Jordan: Ummmm....I guess i would pickup the guitar, and try to learn some stuff on there.
