I dont recall all the mics we used but I do remember that we had 6 Shure SM57's for the toms and snare, and that was it . It's something we wanted to try after hearing that Rick Ruben did that with Slayer.

About studio:

No big secret here, a good engineer and of course a good band with you is all you need. We also tried Cymbals over dubbed for more definition. First time I ever did that, it's a bit of work but interesting.
